Apart from that we saw whales for a lot of time (unbeatable experience), sharks, playful seals and penguins (from a distance). We are very satisfied and we highly recommend it”

“Their who operation what awesome, they went the extra mile to make sure people were taken care of and had a good time and the tour includes lots of little extras that really made it great, like a hot shower after you get out of the water, snacks before, after, and during the tour, they offered blankets and hot water bottles if people were cold, and for people like me that ended up seasick for part of it, they were very attentive and tried their best to make me comfortable given the situation.”

“What a fantastic day out with Ryan, Brandon and the team!!! We booked Apex in Simons Town because it is just 45 minutes from the cruise terminal (rather than some of the other sites which are up to 3 hours away). This is nature, so there is no guarantee of anything, but these guys know exactly what they are doing. After a brief stop at the seal colony we stopped at the cage dive site, once the cage was fixed the bait went in and the sharks came!! We were split into 3 groups of four and as each group took their turn in the cage (about 25 mins each!)…”

“10/10 experience. Nina, Jason and Ernest were all incredibly welcoming and friendly. They made sure to explain everything (so that we felt re-assured) and answered any questions that we had about the sharks. We saw 10 to 12 sharks, they seemed genuinely excited for us and especially about sightings of the slightly more rare 7 gilled sharks! Shoutout must also go to Lindy, who was super responsive to any queries beforehand and was welcoming and approachable on the day. Would highly recommend cage diving with this crew.”

Leave Cape Town before sunrise for Gansbaai, where a three-hour boat trip gives you a chance to see great white sharks from a shared cage. After lunch, visit African penguins at Stony Point or, on some departures, a nearby rescue center. Expect a weather-dependent day and changing schedules.

“everything about the shark drive was awesome, the guides were friendly, helpful and it was an incredible experience! they do bait the sharks in case anyone's wondering (which I have mixed feelings about). next, the listed time says 6am on here, however, pick up was actually at 4am. we also returned much earlier than the listed time. also there was no stop at Betty's Bay to see penguins and no ride scenic along R44, with a nice stop along the way. instead, we were inland and drove through route 2. that was annoying and it wasn't even mentioned. we instead stopped at African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary - Gansbaai, which…”
